Buffalo Mix Grass Install in Edge Hill

This Edge Hill yard needed a new lawn. The side area beside the house and spa was down to bare, weedy soil by the time we started, so a buffalo mix grass install was the job. Nothing much was growing, and what was there had to go.

We stripped out the old grass first. That cleared the whole strip running alongside the house, the spa and the covered deck. Once the ground was clean we could see what we were working with.

Then we prepped the site. We got the surface levelled and ready for new turf. Topsoil went down across the area to give the new grass something to root into.

With the base sorted, we laid the new buffalo mix turf. It ran the length of the yard, from the house past the spa deck and along the white fence line. The garden beds and potted plants along the fence stayed put, so the fresh grass sits right up against them.

You can still see the strip seams in the after photos. They knit together as the lawn settles in. The turf covers the whole space now, green and even, where the bare dirt used to be.

It's straightforward work, but it makes a difference to how the whole side yard sits. The spa and deck now have a proper lawn next to them instead of patchy ground. We've done similar work on a turf install in Edmonton where the same prep-and-lay approach applies.

Buffalo mix suits this kind of yard well. It holds up beside a spa and deck area, and it takes to the local climate. Getting the topsoil right before laying is what sets the lawn up to hold on.

The last thing we did was tidy the site and pull the gear out. Truck loaded, blower packed, grass down.
