Garden Bed Remulch in Earville

The owner was getting the house ready to go on the market in Earville and needed the gardens looking neat for the photos. They asked us to remulch the beds and sort out the paths. The beds were bare in spots, with exposed soil and a lot of leaf litter through them. One side path along the pool fence had worn back to dirt with roots showing.

We started with the mulch. It came in as a bulk pile dropped on the street, so we barrowed and shovelled it through the property bed by bed. The old beds got a fresh top of dark mulch, raked out evenly around the existing shrubs, palms and bromeliads. It's straightforward work, but it makes a difference.

The front bed under the big tree beside the house was one of the bigger ones. We spread the mulch right through it and tidied the edge against the lawn. The bed beside the timber deck and metal gate got the same treatment, and it cleaned up well.

Then we sorted the paths. The bare dirt path alongside the metal pool fence had worn back to roots, so we re-established it with new light-grey gravel. That gave it a defined edge again and stopped it looking like part of the garden bed. The palm path with the drain grate had the beds around it topped up too, so the grate sat clean against fresh mulch.

We've done similar work on a garden clean up and remulch in Mount Sheridan, and the approach here was much the same. Prep the beds, spread the mulch, tidy the edges, then finish the paths.

By the end the beds all had an even cover of dark mulch and the plants stood out against it. The gravel path read as a proper path again rather than worn dirt.
