Turf Install in Yorkeys Knob

This turf install in Yorkeys Knob was a backyard beside a pool. The old turf had gone patchy and weeds had taken over. The homeowner wanted a fresh lawn between the timber paling fence and the black pool fencing.

We started with a full scrape back. Old weeds and tired turf were taken off down to bare soil. The before shots show the yard cleared right back, timber fence on one side and pool fence on the other.

Once it was bare, we spread top soil and fertiliser to give the new lawn a base to root into. Then the buffalo turf arrived. A pallet of rolled turf was delivered kerbside and carried into the yard.

We laid the buffalo turf across the whole area, working it in along the timber boundary fence and up toward the pool. The rolls were butted up tight so the joins would knit together as the lawn settled.

Buffalo handles a fair bit of foot traffic and copes well next to a pool, so it suits a yard like this. It's straightforward work, but the prep is what makes it last. Skip the scrape back or the top soil and the lawn never gets going.

The finished shots show green lawn running the length of the fence and filling the space beside the pool. A clean edge where the grass meets the fence line. The yard went from bare, scraped soil to a lawn ready to use.
