Transformation

From overgrown grass and weeds to a clear access path along the fence line.

Project Brief

We got called out for some urgent slashing at a Bayview property. Plumbers and builders needed to get on site, but the grass and weeds had run away. In places the Guinea Grass was around 6 foot high.

Before we started, the path beside the black mesh and timber fence was choked. Overgrowth ran along the fence line and up the slope. A silver tarp was draped over part of that slope, so we worked around it.

The job itself was pretty straightforward. We used the brush cutter to slash everything back down the length of the path. Tall grass, weeds, the lot. We cut it low enough to give a clear, walkable route through.

We left the slashed clippings lying across the ground. On an access job like this there's no point bagging green waste when the trades still have to move gear through. A ladder and an orange-capped marker post were already on site, so we cut around those and kept the path open past them.

The path widens out beside the fence and runs between the palms and up the slope. It's the sort of work that isn't complicated, but it makes a big difference when other trades are waiting to get in. If we'd left it, the plumbers and builders would have been fighting through waist-high grass to reach the site.

We've done plenty of similar clearing work, like the garden removal along a fence line in Brinsmead, where the growth needed cutting right back before anything else could happen.

By the end there was a clear run from one side of the block through to the work area. Nothing fancy, just a job that had to be done quick so the site could keep moving.

What was included

  • Assessed the overgrown access path along the fence line and slope
  • Slashed back grass and weeds with a brush cutter, including Guinea Grass around 6 foot high in places
  • Cut a clear, walkable path for plumbers and builders to reach the site
  • Worked around the tarped slope, ladder and marker post on site
  • Left slashed clippings across the ground to keep the route open

The Result

There's now a clear access path running along the fence line and up the slope. The plumbers and builders can get to the work area without fighting through overgrown grass. Quick job, but it opened the site right up.
