Garden Clean Up and Remulch in Mount Sheridan

This garden clean up and remulch in Mount Sheridan was for a long-term client we already mow for. We'd done a garden cleanup here before, so we knew the property. The beds had grown out again. The dracaenas and palms along the timber-sleeper retaining walls had thick understorey growth and needed cutting back.

We sent the team through to work each bed in turn. The front raised bed above the timber wall was tidied first. Then the timber-edged bed near the black-framed enclosure, the side bed against the dark timber fence, and the poolside garden with the dracaenas.

We cut back the overgrown plants, pruned the dracaenas and palms, and cleared the understorey. Cut fronds and prunings were piled on the lawn as we went, then cleared out. Once the beds were trimmed and clean, we spread fresh Caribbean pine mulch across the raised beds.

The mulch went on dark and even. It gives the plants a clean edge and holds moisture through the beds. We finished the same day, with before and after taken across the four main areas.

It's straightforward work, but it makes a difference to how the whole yard sits. The dracaenas stand out now the understorey is gone, and the mulch ties the beds together.

Being an ongoing client, we keep the lawns going and step in for the bigger jobs like this when the gardens need a proper reset. We've done similar work on a garden bed remulch in Woree, and the approach is much the same. Cut back, clear out, then mulch.

By the end the timber-edged beds were topped with fresh mulch and the poolside garden was tidied back around the dracaenas.
