Turf Install in Edmonton

This Edmonton property needed a full turf install across the front and rear yards. Both areas had patchy dead grass, weeds and bare dirt. The front had a letterbox and entry sitting over dry ground. The rear was a large flat yard bordered by timber paling fences and a rendered block retaining wall, with a mountain backdrop.

We started by poisoning all the weeds and old grass. Once that had done its job we scraped the ground back, then smoothed and levelled it. Next we spread 19 m³ of turf underlay and topsoil across both yards. You can see the fresh sandy base in the mid-stage photos, levelled off and ready. That was day one done.

Day two was the turf. We laid 450 m of Sir Walter Buffalo across the front and rear areas. The rolls went down and we fertilised as we went. A good base underneath makes this part go smoother, and the levelling from day one paid off here. Then we rolled the turf to make good contact with the ground underneath.

After that we watered it in with the hose. The roll seams are still visible in the finished shots. That is normal for fresh turf before it knits together, and it fills in as the lawn establishes. Once the lawn was down and watered we cleaned the property down with the pressure cleaner. The concrete driveway and path came up clean. So the place looked as good as when we first arrived.
