Case Study
Garden Bed Remulch in Woree
Photographed on site — Woree, June 2026
Transformation
From leaf-covered beds to clean, freshly mulched garden beds.
Project Brief
The garden beds around this commercial site in Woree were heavily covered in fallen leaves and debris. The beds run along the fence lines, hedges and car park edges, and they needed a clean-up and a fresh remulch.
We started by clearing the leaf debris and weeds from all the existing beds. This included the beds over gravel and soil, the strips beside the black metal fencing, and the sections near the hedges by the driveway. Getting the beds clean first means the new mulch sits properly and does its job.
Once the beds were cleared, we laid pine bark mulch across all of them. We ran it at roughly 75mm thick and used around 12 cubic metres in total. The mulch went right up to the fence lines, around the hedges and along the car park edges where the wheel stops and steel drainage grates are.
We worked around the fixed points in the beds. The round inspection covers were left exposed rather than buried, so they stay accessible. The gravel drainage strips within some of the beds were kept clear too.
Mulch was laid neatly around the shrubs near the drainage grate and the fire hydrant, and along the driveway edge beneath the hedge. A blower was used to tidy up the finished beds and clear stray mulch off the paths and gravel.
It is straightforward work, but on a commercial site it makes a real difference to how the frontage looks. The fresh pine bark gives the beds a clean, even cover and keeps the weeds down.
What was included
- Cleared leaf debris and weeds from all existing garden beds
- Prepared beds along fence lines, hedges and car park edges
- Laid pine bark mulch at approximately 75mm thick
- Used around 12 cubic metres of mulch across the site
- Kept inspection covers and gravel drainage strips exposed
- Blew down paths and gravel to finish
Key Features
Pine bark mulch
We used pine bark mulch across all the beds, laid at roughly 75mm thick to give an even cover.
Beds cleared first
Leaf debris and weeds were removed before any mulch went down, so the fresh mulch sits properly.
Worked around fixed points
The round inspection covers and gravel drainage strips were kept exposed and accessible.

The Result
The beds now have a clean, even cover of fresh orange-brown pine bark, from the fence lines through to the car park edges. The leaves and weeds are gone and the inspection covers are still accessible.
